Which drains can be cleared on a fixed price?
The D & C Plumbing fixed price for drain unblocking is listed as £75 to £130. That covers kitchen sink drains, bathroom drains and external drain clearing.
Grease poured away hot and set solid further down is the classic kitchen blockage. In bathrooms it is hair, knotted together with soap scum. Externally, leaf litter, grit and wipes pile up at the gully and the first inspection chamber.
What can I pour down my drain to unblock it?
Hot water with a little washing up liquid can shift a soft grease blockage, and it is the gentlest thing to try first. Take care with harsh chemical unblockers, which can harm older pipes, and never mix different products.
How long is plumbing work guaranteed for?
All D & C Plumbing work comes with a 6 month guarantee. It covers installations as well as repairs. A fault that returns within the period is the fixing firm’s to put right.
Any guarantee is only as useful as your record of the job. Note the date, what was done and what parts went in. That turns any return visit into a short conversation.
How much does drain unblocking cost?
D & C Plumbing lists drain unblocking at £75 to £130, covering kitchen sink drains, bathroom drains and external drain clearing. Labour and basic parts are included in the listed price.
What goes into building a wet room?
D & C Plumbing fits wet rooms and en-suites within its full bathroom service. A wet room is a shower area level with the rest of the floor, with no tray to step over.
Everything depends on the floor falling towards the drain and on the room being fully tanked. Timber floors need extra care, because any movement can open up the waterproof layer. For an en-suite, the question is normally how the waste reaches the soil stack.
